London Workshops
Last month I managed to find space to take a few days off work and travel down to London to attend two days at Photography Farm Elements workshops.
These are put together by the very talented and friendly Lisa Devlin who teaches photographers all over the uk, its a fantastic way to meet other photographers and learn certain techniques.
The first day we learnt all about flash on and off the camera, I had been wanting to attend a workshop covering this as flash terrifies me especially at weddings so I was keen to learn, Adam Bronkhorst who has written books about photography which have been published all over the world has the patience of a saint and talked us through every aspect of this, I am terrible with numbers but Adam teaches in a way that you start to pick up things easily.
After a lovely meal out in London with the group were we got to know everyone better, the following day Lisa Brown took us through her methods and steps of shooting couples, it was fascinating just to watch Lisa in action as her photographs are so close and look so personal and yet when she works she has a calming relaxed approach and you can see the couple just relax with her.
The afternoon was finished with a very inspiring talk from Lisa Devlin herself which covered marketing and business. Lisa is incredibly honest and it was great hearing all about her business and ideas that you came away buzzing with new things you want to do.
I thoroughly enjoyed these two days and have come away with some great ideas and techniques and some new friends too :)
